On the bench - Veritas Set-Up Blocks

Setting up machines in the shop can be a frustrating and inaccurate undertaking. Tape measures and rulers are difficult to use when measuring gaps between curved bits and guide fences

The Imperial six-piece primary set includes 1/16", 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" thick 2" long blocks made of anodized aluminum plus a steel “1 2 3” block. The seven-piece expansion set includes 3/16", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 9/16", 5/8" and 11/16" sizes.

There is also an extra set available but not sure yet if I will be using the included blocks but it is available.

Setting up blade or bit height, or a distance between a fence and the blade/bit should now be much easier. At least for the said set measures included in the 2 sets.

I know that other blocks currently on the market are available and do take a different approach for taking the measure, but I preferred these set, giving more options for the same amount of dollars, at least in my necks of the woods.

I also like the 1-2-3 block, I can see some occasion that this will be used without getting the tape measure or a ruler of some sort to measure. Just pickup the block and your done.

Here are the links for the primary set and the 1/16 expansion set, both from LeeValley
